Do Crime
design: Pihla Lehtinen (2019)
language: Finnish/English
characters: 10
A story of witches and queers, of communities of the oppressed and their means of survival.
Do Crime was funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
The game focuses on a queer community, opression and resistance. The characters are modern day queers dealing with modern day opression, but the theme of resistance is adressed trough a witch-allegory: a coven gathers to make deals with a supernatural entity to gain better tools of resistance and survival.
Queers and witches are both placed as the cultural other, often form communities of the othered and turn their otherness into survival stategies.
